Erin J. Mullikin is the Director of Brand & Marketing at Akashinga, where she leads org-wide brand and marketing strategy, storytelling, visual identity, and campaign development in support of the organisation’s mission to protect nature through community-driven conservation.
Since joining in 2023, Erin has overseen the organisation’s global rebrand and drives cross-functional marketing initiatives that elevate visibility, deepen engagement, and grow impact. When she's not at her home in Philadelphia, she is on-site where Akashinga operates with camera in hand working directly with Akashinga Rangers, partners, communities, and staff to elevate their stories and bring Akashinga to life across diverse audiences.
With a background in visual design, creative strategy, writing, and filmmaking, Erin brings over 15 years of experience in building and evolving mission-aligned brands as well as the development and execution of data-driven marketing initiatives. Prior to Akashinga, she held senior creative and marketing leadership roles in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors and taught writing and visual rhetoric at the university level. Her professional and creative work centres on using design and narrative to connect people to purpose, elevate gender-diverse frontline leadership, and promote environmental and social justice.
