Dr. Ranga Huruba is a Zimbabwean raised amid the country’s breathtaking natural landscapes which instilled in him a lifelong passion for the natural environment. Influenced by local knowledge and the raw beauty of his surroundings, his formative years laid the groundwork for his commitment to conservation and sustainable development.

Ranga challenges conventional wisdom while remaining deeply connected to the local traditions knowledge systems. His work is characterized by an ethical commitment to using science as a tool for positive social and environmental change. He aspires to mentor the next generation of conservationists and to continue fostering collaborations that strengthen the links between academia, policy, and grassroots action.

His research spans biodiversity conservation, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable management of natural resources. His studies in rangeland management have not only advanced theoretical understanding but have also informed practical conservation strategies. It also underscores his role in translating research into tangible community benefits, particularly those focusing on wildlife management and climate adaptation.
